What is the first step to a relaxing home environment?

Clients often say that they want their space to feel more relaxing and calm.

For me, the first step to creating a relaxing home environment is easily tidiness and organisation!

I haven’t always been tidy and organised (we’ve all been teenagers!), this has developed later in life, and I appreciate the sense of calm and peace that comes with it.

Clever and practical storage solutions are money well spent. In the interior design world, there are many ways to incorporate storage into design; incorporated in furniture, storage ottomans, drawers that utilise space under the bed, extending kitchen cabinetry to the ceiling to provide more room for longer term items that don’t need to be accessed as frequently, and much more.

It’s also common for people to have a collection of random items on surface spaces. Freeing counters from this clutter and only choosing to display key items that are beautiful, have sentimental value and significance, can make a space go from feeling busy and cluttered to cosy and inviting.

If you are looking for ways to add storage to your space, feel free to get in touch!

I’d love to hear about the clever ways you have added storage to your spaces.
